C.H.E.F: is an after school interactive cooking program. Each week the students in the class will have the chance to prepare recipes from countries and cultures from all over the world. CHEF teaches a progression of culinary skills throughout the program. Students learn how to properly use knives, nutrition information, flavors, cuisine, and team work and then get to enjoy the snack/recipe they prepared. We discuss health and wellness, good eating habits, kitchen and table manners, and how this leads to a healthy balanced lifestyle. During the lessons the students will also expand on math skills, reading, and teamwork as we work through the lesson’s recipe. There will be a few classic CHEF recipes that repeat but the majority are new and spring recipes. Last class is April 28th.
WEDNESDAYS
Soccer - with Ms. Sandra: Children will learn to run, kick a ball & sportsmanship. Practice for this age group is about improving social skills, improving coordination, learning the concepts of soccer and most of all to have fun. Children will need athletic shoes and water bottle. In September the classes will be held indoors for skills building.
THURSDAYS
Movement and More- with Ms. Elena: Get ready to move, groove, and explore! Movement and More is an engaging class for preschool-aged children that blends physical activity, creative expression, and sensory exploration. This class also incorporates music and storytelling to spark-social development. Designed to nurture growing bodies and minds, Movement and More encourages teamwork, self-expression, and a love for movement in a fun and supportive environment.
STEAM - with Ms. Allison: Full “STEAM” Ahead Enrichment for Kindergarten. Children are naturally little scientists, who learn by exploring the world around them and making discoveries through play. In this enrichment class, Ms. Allison will lead fun, hands-on (and sometimes messy) science experiments and activities that will explore the interconnected topics of science, technology, engineering, art, and math. The class will delve into the worlds of chemistry, physics, geology, biology, botany, zoology, meteorology, geography, and ecology. Each week, the children will take a closer look at something new by observing, examining, making connections, reflecting, and most importantly…doing!
